In our fast-paced, ever-evolving world, it's easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of life. We're constantly bombarded with information, demands, and distractions, leaving us little time to reflect, understand our thoughts, and nurture our mental well-being.

This book should come with a warning: READING THIS BOOK WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE.
Julia Cameron, in her book "The Artist's Way," introduced the concept of "morning pages." These are three pages of longhand, stream-of-consciousness writing that you do first thing in the morning.
Morning pages are a fantastic tool for clearing your mind, identifying creative blocks, and sparking your creativity. They're a great way to jumpstart your day with a sense of clarity and purpose.

The dark side of journaling
While journaling has many benefits, it's essential to recognize its potential pitfalls. Sometimes, we can become too self-involved, introspective, and reflective, to the point that it hinders our ability to take action. Here are some signs you might be on the verge of the "dark side" of journaling:

My own experience of journaling
I've been journaling daily for over 20 years. In my cellar are piles of old journals that I've never looked at. Perhaps I will one day. But I doubt they'll make for interesting reading for anyone.
But writing my thoughts down has been invaluable for my mental health and clarity over the years. Sometimes I write a few lines, sometimes a to-do list. I've always written on paper as it feels important for me to journal offscreen away from the computer.
If I could make only one recommendation or encouragement to you it would be: start journaling.
